Easter Event 2023 Sets - Feedback

Loki

The West Team
Howdy Cowgirls & Cowboys,

as every year, during the Easter Event, you will have chance to win four sets.
You, the Beta Community, are very important to us and we are always looking forward to your feedback.

Please, check the sets below and let us know of your opinion (how and what you would change).

Free set might as well be an attack set for tanks since it gives so much Leadership hiding , maybe just instead of appearance add dodging and maybe aiming as well and it can be a good attacking set , John Bull with aiming but obviously make it slightly worse than John Bull, anyone that doesn't have John Bull would love this.

I won't comment much about the other sets , just Set 2 which I like a lot , my only issue is the money % bonus on the weapons, come on people it's been so long since Moonshiner set have come out.. I suggest Money bonus to get increased from 35% to at least 45%.

For the special weapons I would've loved to see something like Tombstone but instead the high XP % make it a high % luck. Weapons giving 35% + 35% ( set bonus +50% luck ) you can also add some other bonuses but Luck to be the main bonus of the weapons.

They look aight, would be nice if we could see the stats in a better format... Per level then at 150. Per item & all items, set bonus & set bonus+all items. The current format also wastes alot of space on top of being hard to read and get a gist of how good/bad they are. This'd definitely improve the quality of feedback if more players could easily get a feel of the sets, I think most don't really get it.

remove appearance from free set, give it dodging instead and we are golden, also the labor points in there seem a little out of place, maybe give it resistance (+40 resistance weapon set, +40 horse and yield, +40 clothes)

edit:
any chance to give SET 1 a multiplayer attack/def bonus but for sector? we havent had that in quite some time.. last set that had sector attack/def bonus was Lee in 2016

edit 2:
instead of resistance for the free weapon set, you can give it 20% or 25% xp, so attackers have something similar to John Astor ride set, in terms of bonus XP, so it would look like:
Clothes set bonus: +40 resistance instead of labor points
Ride set bonus: +40 resistance instead of labor points
Weapon set bonus: +20/+25% xp instead of labor points

and give it dodging instead of appearance :)

  1. The first set is slightly worst than Perry's, but it offers more attack, and many people consider attack more important than defense for adventures, so I think this set is quite balanced. The weapons seems a bit too strong for a non premium weapon, but I may be wrong about it, it have to be tested first, but i'm suuure you test it enough and conclude that is balanced :njub:
  2. The second set is a better Revere with appropriate bonuses for the new jobs, it's very good, especially the weapons, I've been waiting for something like this since last year. The weapon set seems to offer about as much toughness as the Bounty hunter's set and vigor on top of that, but you lose aiming and dodging, possibly situationally good, but remains to be seen. The clothes set also has good bonuses for duel, but it also lacks aiming/dodging, maybe it will be good in certain combinations, it's hard for me to tell right now, the way the bonuses are arranged makes it difficult to see and calculate them.
  3. I don't understand this set. Is it good for certain jobs? I'm not sitting here right now taking all the jobs in a row to see what it might be good for. The bonuses could be better.
  4. The free set is weird, I don't understand why you introduced appearance as a bonus for this set. It should be weak because it's the free set, but not in this way.
  5. As for event weapons, they could be similar to Tombstone's, possibly with less appearance and more aiming and with some vigor (for sword) and shooting (for gun), and instead of being focused on xp, they could be focused on drop chance.
Personally, I would have liked a set with aiming, dodging and tactics (and some vigor, but just a little bit), we need a counter to Pearl's set for appearance vs tactics part.

I don't understand this set. Is it good for certain jobs? I'm not sitting here right now taking all the jobs in a row to see what it might be good for. The bonuses could be better.
I think its for these jobs:

Robbing a gun salesman (Vigor-Shooting)
Hunting Antelopes (Shooting-Tactics)
Robbing a gold digger (Vigor-Shooting)
Hunting Bulls (Vigor-Shooting)
Work as a fur trader (Shooting-Trading)
Stealing from merchants (Shooting-Tactics)
Nickel Mining (Vigor-Shooting-Tactics)
Selling Horses (Shooting-Tactics)

Note that only Nickel Mining asks for 3 or more from this set so I don't understand this set too because there could be better combinations or less skills to distribute. For example instead of trading and tactics , replace them with Animal Instinct and Fine Motor skills or Horseback riding.

Suggestion: Complete revamp the set and make it a special set just for Archeologist.

+1.0 Construction
+1.0 Horseback Riding
+1.0 Swimming
+1.0 Repairing
+1.0 Tactics

Set bonus:

+2.0 Construction
+2.0 Horseback Riding
+2.0 Swimming
+2.0 Repairing
+2.0 Tactics
+250 Labor Points on Work as an Archeologist

With its high luck value we can find more valuable items with a set like this and we can actually reach over 25k in item drops.

P.S. I don't give any luck bonus so it wont become a totally busted set for item drops. You should work your way for them but at knowing you will be able to reach over 25k luck value..

Personally, I would have liked a set with aiming, dodging and tactics (and some vigor, but just a little bit), we need a counter to Pearl's set for appearance vs tactics part.
You just described Johnny Behan's set :njub: It does have a relatively small amount of tactics, but you can pair it up with a horse/saddle that give tactics (either the Elre one or go old school with McLaughlin) and some good defensive weapons (Lucky Clover comes to mind) and you get a very good defensive set with the exact bonuses you wanted :)
And as for the sets for Easter Event:
- FREE SET: Appearence is a bit pointless for a set that has a lot of Fort ATK bonuses, maybe just replace it with Aiming or Dodging (I personally think Aiming is better as you get a lot of Leadership and nowadays tanks do more damage at forts)
- Set 1: Clearly meant for Adventures, but I think that it can also be used at some of the "new" jobs based on the stats it gives
- Set 2: Noice!
- Set 3: Looks like an all-around set, not meant to excel at anything in particular.

For event weapons, I would personally like to see a weapons set with XP or Luck bonus (I already have Mythical weapons for Drop %, so am biased on this).

Free set
- general purpose: regen set - clothing is weaker than Belschnickel and Santa, but ride and weapons would be the current benchmark (Santa ride is 70%, weapons 75%), this should be 90% both
- for PvP - if there wouldn´t be Appearance possibly somehow useful for FB in attack, but because of secondary resistance absence, one would be just a sitting duck against snipers in defence
- purpose for jobs: questionable, the Hiding&Leadership are currently covered by FB attack clothing (like captain, Murrieta etc.)
> the clothes are the best for Protecting the wagon train (+12.29 LP/level), Teach (+10.46), best center jobs should be Work as a bodyguard (+9.93), Work as a stage performer (+9.49), best new jobs are Work as a judge (+9.75) and Work as a historian (+8.02)
> the ride is the best for same jobs with exception of historian, the second best new job is Work as a tailor
> weapons copy paste of 2 points above

Generally I don´t like the idea of free set being benchmark in something (it lowers motivation to seek for tombola sets (but could be only my opinion)).

Only 3 jobs contains Leadership&Hiding&Appearance combination (judge, bodyguard and stage performer) - so if it shouldn´t contain dexterity skills, my idea would be having Reflex instead of hiding (7 jobs needs the skill combo) any other simillar changes doesn´t make a sense - shooting would be an option, if the dexterity was there.

There is a possibility of making this FB tank set for attack, but I don´t think that´s a good idea (we had simillar set on DoD and few others in recent past - La China, Siringo, Andreas...).

Set 1
- general purpose: labour & adventure set, possibly useful for movement as well
> adventure: clothes with 16 attack and 6.5 defense are a good alternative for Perry Owens set (11 attack 10.5 defense)
> jobs: it´s simillar to Angus or Locomotive engineer - the best jobs are related to horses, for a new jobs - Hunting antilopes, Hunting foxes, Selling horses and for Fargo and tracking big game in the center as well
- weapons - I mean on 150 7-6-6-7 360-380 gun is mediocre for adventure, it´s a pity that guns for adventures (Owens, Tatanka, Boatswain) are total failures, because of very low attributes - to put it simple, it´s useless for anyone having Lucille´s lasso or the knifes... Is that that hard to look at those and make an alternative? The only real purpose of weapons is therefore labour points on mentioned jobs (which is too little for 48k eggs)...
> it can be improved by increasing the damage and attributes slightly (imho 0.045 to all) and both damage parts > then I would be completely satisfied with whole set
> don´t get a presence of strength in clothing, when there´s no skill, which would require it

Set 2
- general purpose: working set, the new benchmark for Money&Luck combo (169% both, compared to 146% on P. Revere), I like the idea of weapons for this combination (there aren´t any in the game apart from tombola winning weapons)
> what I see as a big pron - it´s aimed at the new jobs: Robbing a gun salesman (15.11), Robbing a gold digger (14.71), Stealing food supplies (14.48), Work as a fur trader (12.54) - which have reasonable range of drop

So I would fully approve the set.

Set 3
- general purpose: working set
> the combination of skills is strange - the clothing is the most suitable for Nickel mining (12.32), Work as a banker (10.64), Hunt pumas (10.62) and Work as a gunsmith (10.46) - which will surely be covered by trading set - it may give a point here and there, but I have a strong suspect it will be just at few places around the map
> the bonus to everything is 25% - so the sum of $+exp+Luck+Drop is 100% (Firefighter is 60-70-60-30), I would expect something slightly weaker, Set 2 have: 338% of $+Luck - unfortunatelly I see an abyss between Set 2 and Set 3, where one is sky-high and this is dead-bottom
> personally I would delete this one and invent something else, this is a complete miss - possibly useless for a job input and output as well...
> weapons from this set are for 48k eggs imho appaling

Only 3 jobs contains Leadership&Hiding&Appearance combination (judge, bodyguard and stage performer) - so if it shouldn´t contain dexterity skills, my idea would be having Reflex instead of hiding (7 jobs needs the skill combo) any other simillar changes doesn´t make a sense - shooting would be an option, if the dexterity was there.

There is a possibility of making this FB tank set for attack, but I don´t think that´s a good idea (we had simillar set on DoD and few others in recent past - La China, Siringo, Andreas...).
i agree with everything else, except the free set would be great for a lot of ppl who dont have bull or other similar set for attack as a tank. it just needs a few tweaks as described above and it can be decent, mainly perhaps on new worlds, but even old worlds with new players who have no money for bull and were not around for la china, siringo etc... i dont think it should be a work set, there are others for that, and anyway, you dont give HP to a set meant for jobs...

You just described Johnny Behan's set :njub: It does have a relatively small amount of tactics, but you can pair it up with a horse/saddle that give tactics (either the Elre one or go old school with
No I didn't. Johnny behan's tactic is extremely small, the set is unusable.
Eire or Sarah's horse sets have extremely little tactics as well. (and also low a/d). What do you do with 400 total tactics? :)))
The idea was to be able to achieve 1k+tactics at a high level and high upgrades with a good combination, mentaining a fair amount of aiming and dodging, but having low vigor/shooting. If you are not a soldier, it is almost impossible to play with tactics when attacked with high appearance. Even if you force the tactics, you will lose a LOT of aim/dodging/vigor. But we all know that you are a soldier and you don't have this problem, you made it public recently :njub:

Johnny behan's clothes offers 1.26 tactics x lvl and 0 charisma x lvl and Eire horse set offers 0.7 tactics and 0.12 charisma x lvl. 312 tactics at lvl 150.
I repeat, who are you defending against with this amount of tactics? I think even the NPCs beat you with this fantastic combination mentioned by you. It can be seen that you are playing on a dead world, you are very rusty, to say it politely.

So what if I'm a soldier?
Did I say it's the best defensive combination or what? No, I said that based on what you asked for there is already a set. The fact that you want thousands of tactics is not really my problem, because if they give you that you will still be crying because of the soldiers bouns anyway.

"I think even the NPCs beat you with this fantastic combination mentioned by you" ->I can easily achieve exactly what you said: 1k+ effective tactics, lots of aiming and dodge and it still has a relatively low amount of vigor - so a T/R build will beat it. You're talking as if there are only duelists on active worlds, when in reality you have a handful of players focused on duel and the rest are workes/fort fighters. Why would I need insanse stats to defend against a full HP or Leadership player?

Edit: Just so you can see what I meant: (you wouldn't say there is 400 total tactics now, would you?)

The tactics is extremly low. I can have over 1300 appearance only from items, so how is 650-700 tactics comparated to that?
Did you even read what I wrote? :))
We need a set with high tactics, not low tactics. Aiming and dodging has to be high, but vigor to be little or none.
I do double appearance to how much tactics you do with your combination, and I also do a lot more aiming/dodging/vigor, so how can you say what behan is comparable to my requested set?

This is my set:

How is this comparable with yours? Even if we both had the same level, the difference would have been very big. Especially when it comes to tactics, it's the skill we insist on. I'm not saying that I want a set with 1300 tactics only from clothes and with such high values of aiming/fear/vigor, but it should be better than what we have.

How is this set compared with your defensive set. Do you think it's balanced?

@thenootz55 And btw, the tactics we see from your combo is mostly from the horse set, weapon set and the hat, behans' clothes that you mentioned it the first place barely offer 238 tactics (with charsima added). So...what exactly did you want to prove?
