Wild Bill Cody (Buffalo Bill) started it all in 1882 with his Wild West Show. Local residents could compete with his showmen in certain disciplines such as "buck riding" (riding wild horses) or "calf roping".

Bull riding began in the 1910s as riding in open riding areas. It was not until the early 1930s, when riding arenas became widespread, that the larger Brahman and cross-breed bulls were used. In this event, the competitor competes against a bull weighing 1,700–2,000 pounds (770–910 kg).
When are rodeos in the USA? The Jackson Hole Rodeo takes place every Wednesday and Saturday evening from the end of May to the beginning of September. This is not just a tourist attraction, but a sporting competition that is very popular in the region.
Where was the first rodeo held in the United States? After the American Civil War, organized rodeos emerged, with the first being held in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1872. Prescott, Arizona, can boast of hosting the first professional rodeo, which charged admission and awarded trophies in 1888.
